Core concepts in the Developmental Analysis of Psychotherapy Process
Underlying the DAPP framework are the following key assumptions: (a) that psychological development is a common outcome across all successful psychotherapy; (b) that the creation of the therapeutic relationship offers additional resources that may be effectively used within the clients’ developmental processes; and (c), when psychotherapy fails, the client was unable to use the resources which the therapist offered and therapist failed to offer resources that the client could use.
